The Democratic Labour Party is looking to contest the Australian Federal Election, running a candidate for the Senate under the banner "Family and Freedom."

Due to a recent High Court decision, we are unable to run using the Democratic Labour Party name we have used for nearly 70 years.

As a result, we will contest the election as independent candidates, on a unity ticket with Bob Day AO alongside our State Co-ordinator Patrick Amadio.

As a freedom friendly minor party, we will work with likeminded independents and smaller parties to restore balance and decency in our national discourse, end mandates and restore Australia as a free and independent nation.

Pat Amadio

Senate Candidate

Pat Amadio is an everyday South Australian who is standing as a Senate candidate, fighting for the needs of hardworking families and communities. As State Co-ordinator of the Democratic Labour Party in SA, he is a strong advocate for ending anti-worker mandates and allowing small business to get back to doing what they do best - functioning as the beating heart of the Australian economy. Pat is South Australian born and bred, with a good understanding of country SA, having lived on a mixed farm while growing up. Pat has worked in a range of roles around security and cash management and is well equipped to advocate for better education, training and policing in our local communities. Pat is also passionate about restoring our democratic institutions and truly representative, responsible government, fighting corruption at the highest levels and ensuring the major parties and government bureaucrats are held accountable for their management (or mismanagement) of our nation. Some of Pat's other policies are as follows: Restore the national economy by reinstating tariffs to protect Australian industry and manufacturing jobs. Stand up for our rural areas, which get the raw end of the deal far too often. Rebuild our rural road and rail infrastructure to support the decentralisation of population, jobs and the economy. Stand up for the Murray Darling Basin, ensuring adequate water for both environmental, drinking water and farming purposes, especially adequate flows to South Australia and the Lower Lakes. Rebuild the Australian defence forces to be able to protect our nation from foreign powers. Stand on our own two feet as a nation, able to chart our own course in the national interest, while being a strong and reliable defence partner of the US in our local geographical region. Engage with indigenous communities to empower them to drive positive change, working directly with their elders and hierarchy. Stand up for the right to life from conception until natural death and protect the tradtional family as central to our society. Vigorously advocate for Australian energy independence to reduce our vulnerability to supply chain issues. Currently Australia has virtually no refinery capacity and far too little storage. Develop bio-fuels to help supplement existing natural gas and oil supplies. Support all viable forms of baseload energy generation, including lifting the ban on safe nuclear power.

The Democratic Labour Party is a volunteer-run organisation fighting for family values, Australian culture, a strong small business and rural sector and a fair go for everyday Australians.
